ADVISING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Undergraduate Students: As of October 28th you now have access to your own personal Degree Progress Report via your E-services account. Attend one of 4 Open Lab Sessions to be held in Bayou 1306 to learn more about running and reading your DPR:
Monday, Nov. 3 4-5 pm or Tuesday, Nov. 4 4-5 pm
or
Monday, Nov. 10 4-5 pm or Tuesday, Nov. 11 4-5 pm
This is a work in progress for all of us, and we want your feedback and/or questions! Please compare your DPR with your Candidate Plan of Study and make note of discrepancies or questions. Bring copies of both and visit with us in the SCE Academic Advising Office during walk-in hours or call 281 283-3711 to make an appointment. We will discuss your findings and if necessary, we can "direct" the course designations on your DPR to correctly match the already established and approved CPS. Although the degree progress report is automated, you will continue to be able to consult with your academic advisors and your faculty advisor. We welcome your input!
Graduate Students: Starting Fall 2008 on the 12th day of class (September 8), any graduate degree-seeking student who does not have a complete file for acceptance into an SCE master’s program will lose graduate status and a hold will be placed on his or her ability to register for spring 2009 until all documentation has been received. In SCE a complete file consists of all official transcripts including final semester(s) and grades, proof of bachelor’s degree and GRE score. Some programs also require recommendation letters (Biotechnology) and/or personal statements (Environmental Science).
