What is UAS?

UAS (Unit Assessment System) is a tool developed by the School of Education to help collect data to assess how well we are doing supporting the State Standards. Each course within all of the School of Education's Programs has selected an assignment, known as the Key Assessment. This Key Assessment, when completed by the student, will be submitted to the UAS. If you are registered for a School of Education course and your instructor talks about uploading a product/artifact to the assessment system this is the interface to which your instructor is referring. The assessment interface allows students to upload the specific assignment identified by the program then the instructor will enter a score for that assignment. This should not be confused with the grade for the assignment; the scoring within UAS is strictly a data gathering devise. Through this assessment the school will evaluate how well the program is supporting the standards.
