Community Outreach Day

Due to the impact of Hurricane Ike, this event has been cancelled. Please save the date for our Spring Community Outreach Day: Saturday, February 7, 2009.
Please consider assisting with post-Hurricane Ike clean-up efforts around Houston. We will try to provide you with information about these opportunities in the coming weeks.
To volunteer at a Point of Distribution (POD) in the Houston - Clear Lake area, please call Jacinta Hammersly at (832) 494-3820. (Posted 9-18-08).
Help Ike Victims in Bacliff: If you are able to help out in Bacliff, Mona (832-892-5633) is coordinating a volunteer effort for the city of Bacliff. There is a shortage of volunteers and they are looking for people who are able to help distribute donations to people throughout the community.

At the heart of UHCL Student Leadership Institute’s mission is a commitment to developing leadership through service to the community.
Since 2002, SLI has sponsored Community Outreach Days each semester. Over 725 students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends have given of their time and energy to serve others via numerous service projects benefiting the Houston community.
The Community Outreach program continues to grow and expand, offering wider varieties of projects and opportunities for students and student organizations to make a difference in the lives of others.
