In honor of these elders and your achievements, the COE program is offering scholarships ranging from $250 to $1000 to students whose essays about supportive elders best exemplify the intergenerational strengths of African American and Hispanic communities.
Awardees will be notified in July, 2008. At that time, a photographer will contact all students to be exhibited to set-up a
photo opportunity.
The Celebrating Our Elders Scholarship Project Award winners will be announced during the Opening Ceremonies, September 20, 2008 for the Hispanic ceremony and on October 18, 2008 during the African-American ceremony at the University of Houston-Clear Lake campus.
