Signing up for CareerLink enhances your opportunities to seek employment and connect with potential employers.
Participate in On-Campus Interviewing by employers
If you are interested in On-Campus Recruitment, you must subscribe to CareerLink. An employer reviews resumes electronically submitted by their individual Application Deadline and selects some for the first round of interviews. Those selected are given an option to pick an interview time slot via CareerLink, and then attend the on-campus interview at the scheduled times.
Immediate access to the job listings that come into our office
Career Services posts jobs that employers send to us in the CareerLink database. You may be able to send your resume, and cover letter directly to the employer via the system, or you will have instructions on how you should apply via other methods.
Resume referrals to employers
Some employers opt for a resume referral. An employer identifies required qualifications and requests Career Services to select resumes accordingly. Career Services then sends those resumes to the employer for review. Employers follow up with students they want to interview.
Employer access to resumes
An employer can search uploaded resumes to identify students who may match an open position. Only resumes published by you into one or more of the Resume Books are visible to the employer. If an employer is seeking specific majors, Career Services can refer the employer to the related resume book. For broader searches, Career Services will refer the employer to the General Resume Book.
Students can research employers who have historically posted jobs for UHCL students and alumni.
Please note that subscribing to CareerLink does not guarantee a job offer.
