Classroom Presentation Request Form
Writing Center tutors are available throughout the semester (including some evenings) to make classroom presentations. When you schedule a tutor to visit your class, you can expect a 10-minute introduction to the Writing Center outlining our services, procedures, and general policies, followed by a time for questions and answers. We prefer that you be present throughout the tutor’s visit; this way you can not only show your support for us, you can also hear your students’ questions and better understand their writing concerns. To schedule a presentation, simply call or email the Center or fill out the classroom presentation request form. When requesting, please list course name, time, location, and number of students along with any specific concerns. (You may also request a specific tutor, though we cannot always guarantee that tutor will be available during your time slot.)
We would also like to offer our conference room as an alternative location for a presentation. This kind of physical visit may reduce anxiety in students who feel uncomfortable about seeking help from the Writing Center. If you would like to actually bring your students to the Center for a clearer picture of where we are and what we do, just let us know when you contact us to schedule. The conference table seats ten, but many more could fit standing.
