HISTORY

The University of Houston-Clear Lake Support Staff Association (SSA) established a "Support Staff Employee of the Month Award" in September, 1987. SSA wants to honor members of the staff who serve the university community in an exemplary manner (works over and above regular duties, volunteers in integral SSA activities).  In recent years, this coveted award was changed to "Support Staff Employee of the Quarter." SSA Employee of the Quarter receives $50.00 and the honor to park in a specifically reserved parking space in Lot B.

CRITERIA

1. SSA accepts nominations from students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
2. Members of SSA Executive Board are not eligible for this award nor are employees who have received the award within the last five years.
3. The nominee should be employed by UHCL for 12 months or more.
4. Nominations require three letters of recommendation or one letter and three signatures.
5. Submit the letters of recommendation with the nomination form.

Nominations letters will be presented during an SSA Executive Board meeting and a vote by secret ballot will be taken. Nominations letters will be kept and reconsidered for a 12-month period.
