Graduates of the Early Childhood Program:

• understand the theoretical knowledge base of how children develop and learn
• pursue excellence and innovation in teaching
• appreciate diversity in school populations and build professional experience in a multicultural environment
• display professional and personal integrity
• gain access to educational technology and use it to communicate effectively
• form partnerships with families and communities to better serve them
• use multiple assessment techniques to plan instruction, to gauge learning, and to improve the program
• expand their knowledge through inquiry-based learning and research
• mature as leaders in the field who can advocate for children and families
