What is BAER2?
BAER2 stands for the Baytown Area Education Recruitment and Retention program. In an effort to bring bright, dedicated students into the world of teaching and into the area public schools, BAER2 is a collaboration of Goose Creek Consolidated I.S.D., Lee College and University of Houston-Clear Lake. These three Gulf Coast institutions are working together to provide a step-by-step program of community college preparation, university graduation, and school district experience, to train future teachers for careers in education in the Baytown area.BAER2 students begin by taking course work at Lee College and transferring to UHCL to attend junior and senior level courses. While students attend college at both campuses, Goose Creek Consolidated I.S.D. will provide BAER2 students with opportunities for employment and experiential learning.
