Bay Area Turning Point, www.bayareaturningpoint.org

Take a stand against violence and abuse by giving your time to participate in one of our programs - to help support the journey to peace.
There are a variety of capacities for volunteers to serve, such as: Translators, Interpreters, Hotline Assistant, Clerical, Special Projects, Community Awareness and more.
Orientation sessions are held throughout the year for those who wish to share their time and talents in special projects, direct services and prevention activities.

Compassionate Care Hospice

Compassionate Care Hospice is looking for volunteers to lend their time and talents in several different capacities such as:  Companionship, Spirituality, Household Tasks, Bereavement, Office Work and Pet Therapy.  Hospice is an approach to healthcare that is specifically designed to support the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those who have life-limiting illnesses or conditions.

Neighborhood Tax Centers is an organization dedicated to providing free tax services for low income families. Our volunteers give working families a chance to build a stronger financial future by helping them claim tax credits for which they are eligible.

Open Gate Youth Ministries – Bering Memorial United Methodist Church
Hawthorne Dinner – program

Hawthorne is a weekly family style dinner that organizes every Sunday afternoon at 2pm. Youth will be engaging in volunteer-facilitated discussions in an atmosphere of radical acceptance, reconciliation and inclusion. This family style dinner provides a place where 18 – 24 year old marginalized homeless youth can visit with peers and discuss topics of importance to them at a safe and secure site. Marginalized homeless youth include: youth who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual and/or transgender and have experienced mistreatment due to their circumstance; youth who have fallen victim to gang violence and victimization; and youth who are at high risk of exposure to substance abuse and gang recruitment.
