Additional Orientation for International Students (August 21, 2008)Welcome New Students!
Congratulations on your acceptance to the UHCL! As the newest members of our community of scholars, all international and domestic students are encouraged to attend New Student Orientation and learn more about the UHCL experience and what you can do to ensure your success! By attending, students will gain a comprehensive overview of university policies, expectations and available resources.
For our international students, we also encourage you to attend the New International Student Orientation which is tailored specifically to your unique needs. For more information click the “Additional International Orientation” on the left side bar.

10 Reasons You Should Attend Orientation
- It is your first place to get connected and find out what is happening on the UHCL campus!
- Beat the lines and get your Student ID card made, get your parking permit, and buy your books before classes start!
- Connect to all of the resources available to you and meet important faculty and staff at the resource fair!
- Come to Orientation and you can meet with current students who know the ropes and you can ask questions that only seasoned students will know the answers to!
- At New Student Orientation you can attend a Hot Topics Session where you can learn about Academic Support Programs, Financial Aid, Understanding E-services, Technology at UHCL, Exploring your Major and Co-ops, Supporting students in college etc.
- Avoid getting lost on your first day of classes by taking a tour of the campus at Orientation!
- Get your questions answered by meeting with your academic advisors and hearing from key faculty and staff in your program area all in one location!
- Stay on the leading edge by attending Orientation and find out about student leadership and community service opportunities!
- Get lots of free stuff like your very own UHCL Planner, and Go Green Bag!
- And last (but not least) attend orientation to be eligible to win one of many • iPod shuffles, $50 Bookstore Gift Cards, or even a Dell Laptop!
