Damtew Demeke received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and thereafter held an NIH postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University.  His research interests include natural products synthesis, asymmetric carbon-carbon bond formation and development of catalytic processes and organometallic methodology for organic synthesis

Robert C. Hopkins received his doctorate from Harvard University in physical chemistry. His research focuses on models for the detailed structure of DNA and their implications for binding of other nucleic acids, drugs and proteins. His work involves the use of molecular mechanics/dynamics programs for structure studies, with special interest in DNA flexibility and transcription.

Jack Y. Lu received his doctorate from Northwestern University in Inorganic Chemistry. His research activities are in the area of design and synthesis of new functional metal-organic polymers. For example, one of his research projects concerns rational approaches to new porous open-framework polymers with environmental significance in water purification, molecular separation, and catalysis

W. Ronald Mills received his doctorate from Miami University in biochemistry. His Ph.D.- Work revolves around the regulation of essential amino acid biosynthesis, DNA replication in higher plant chloroplasts, characterization of and protein expression in plant algal and plant cell in simulated micro-gravity.

Daniel Zerong Wang received his doctorate from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Science. His research activity focuses on a) the combinatorial synthesis of carbohydrate-containing molecules with scaffolds of biological functions; b) organic reactions; c) computational chemistry by using ab initio and density function theory to solve some fundamental problems; and d) preparation of carbohydrate-related biopolymers.
