Academic Advisors

Both academic advisors are located in the SCE Dean Office, Bayou Building Room 3611. You may phone them at 281-283-3711 or e-mail sceadvising@uhcl.edu. Barbara Coleman posts an up-to-date advising schedule in the Delta Building, Room 145, every Thursday between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.

• Choosing elective courses at UHCL (see BS curriculum and MS curriculum)
• Setting up their Candidate Plan of Studies (CPS)
• Changing their CPS

Students can also consult with faculty advisors about their study plans, course schedules, career objectives, and preparation.

• Assigning a faculty advisor to an incoming student
• Preparing a draft CPS
• Advising about low-level and foundation courses
• Auditing graduation

They also assist prospective students on their applications, and help them check their application status.

Please visit your faculty and academic advisors as soon as possible to set up your CPS in the first semester
