A Message from the Chief

The University of Houston-Clear Lake Police Department is a state authorized full service police agency, providing law enforcement and security services to the UH–Clear Lake campus community operating twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.  Our police officers are fully state certified and have the same powers as any other police officer in the Great State of Texas. Our primary jurisdiction is the UHCL campus and outlying university properties.  We also take action as needed to provide assistance to other law enforcement agencies and to protect university assets in the areas adjacent to our primary jurisdiction. 

We believe that providing a secure atmosphere conducive to the education, employment and daily community lifestyles of the University of Houston–Clear Lake is an important mission. We must work with and have the assistance of everyone on campus. All of our members have committed to serve the campus and fulfill our mission by being highly skilled and always acting in good faith. In return we ask all campus members to join with us to accomplish our mission through proactive efforts designed to address issues before they become serious safety threats.

We have established this web site to enable us to be even more accessible to the community we serve and to others interested in learning more about our department.  It is designed to address many of the questions commonly encountered about our department and to give you an overview of our staff and services.
