VISION 2020: WHO WE WILL BE
Who will we be? How will UHCL lead in the 21st century? The Vision 2020 document was drafted in 2002 with the participation of over 200 faculty and staff. The document identified eleven themes and recommendations to achieve who we want to be. The Vision 2020 is an organic blueprint that help us focus our energy and resources to accomplish important goals and priorities for future planning. The eleven themes are as follows:
UHCL Stragetic Plan FY05 - FY11
Within the context of the Vision 2020 document, the UHCL Strategic Plan identifies 10 major goals and specific action items associated with each goals for the next 5 years. The plan provides direction and focus for resource allocation for the campus community. The Strategic Plan is a dynamic document which will be revised periodically to reflect new directions as the University responds to both internal and external changes and demands. The ten university strategic goals are as follows:
Goal 1. Foster a learning environment throughout the UHCL community
Goal 2. Maximize student success.
Goal 3. Integrate diversity into the university community and vision.
Goal 4. Innovate to address constituent academic needs.
Goal 5. Develop and increase research, scholarly and creative activities.
Goal 6. Recruit, develop and retain high-quality faculty and staff.
Goal 7. Provide technological resources and support to students, faculty, staff and administrators.
Goal 8. Plan, budget, implement and assess to meet UHCL’s mission and goals.
Goal 9. Increase the financial and human resources available to the university.
Goal 10. Internationalize/Globalize the academic culture and environment
