Secretary for Family Therapy

1998 – to Present

Agatha “Gatha” Whitney has been Family Therapy Secretary for eight years coming onboard in February 1998. She is a member of Texas Educational Support Staff Association having obtained her certification in 2001 as a Certified Educational Office Professional and a pioneer member of UHCL Educational Support Association. In 2005, she was given the Meritorious Award serving three years on the UHCL-ESA Executive Board - two as Historian and one as Secretary and Web-developer as well as Publicity Chair and Editor for ESA Newsletters.     In 2006, she was honored by UHCL President Staples at the Annual Faculty and Staff Awards the President’s Distinguished Staff Merit Award!

Gatha has lived in League City for twenty-five years and is married to her college sweetheart, Ronald for thirty-five years.  She has two married children Tracy and Ronald, Jr. and three grandchildren.

Before living in Texas, she was born and raised in Georgia, the youngest of two siblings with one older brother. She attended Georgia Southwestern College where President Jimmy Carter graduated and La Grange College in her hometown. She married and moved with her husband who received a double major in Business and Economics to New York/New Jersey, Florida, North Carolina, and finally, to Texas.
