Purpose and Objectives

To promote the common professional interests of those who are interested in marital and family therapy, and to fulfill other purposes stated by the University of Houston-Clear Lake Family Therapy Student Association.

Among the many opportunities that are made possible through this membership driven organization:

• Regular Monthly Program Meetings.  Outstanding speaker series, excellent networking opportunities with fellow students, faculty, professionals, and alumni, and continuing education.
  
  
• Annual Workshop.  Held typically in early spring, brings together a variety of mental health professionals by way of a prominent MFT speaker.
  
  
• Cuddle Huddle Support Group.  A safe space for all UHCL-MFT students exchanging ideas and support from other fellow students.  This is a self-governed meeting for the students, by the students, and of the students.
  
  
• Affiliation with local, state, and national professional organizations. Furthering the profession of Marriage and Family Therapy. Includes relationship with HAMFT, TAMFT, TSAMFT, & AAMFT.
  
  
• The FTSA Newsletter.  An informative periodic publication produced by students highlighting recent events and important MFT related announcements.
