Digital Media Studies - Master of Arts
The Digital Media Studies graduate program at University of Houston-Clear Lake – the first of its kind in Texas – provides students with cutting-edge interdisciplinary instruction in digital media theory and skills.
Our faculty recognize the cultural shift toward media convergence and understand that traditional disciplines simply do not offer all the courses professionals need to be competitive in the digital era. Our program gives students the flexibility to create an academic plan that best meets their intellectual needs and career goals. After completing a foundational core curriculum, students may take digital media courses, offered across the university, in communication, art, business, computer programming, gaming and instructional technology.
Upon graduation, our students are well positioned to move into professional and managerial positions, creating, processing and delivering information across a variety of digital platforms. They find positions as Web content managers, communication directors, intranet managers, electronic publishers, creative directors, multimedia designers and project managers. Their interdisciplinary training prepares them to serve as the “critical link” among the chain of specialists in writing, design, programming and marketing now required to produce effective multimedia products.
