This sub plan is designed for students looking for career preparation as leaders in public service organizations. Public service leaders can be teachers, trainers or they may be officials in municipal departments such as fire-fighting, policing and human service agencies. The purpose of the sub-plan is to provide individuals with knowledge and skills in such areas as managerial principles, leadership, conflict resolution and organizational communication.
In addition to the research and statistics and minorities requirements described above, students in the Behavioral Sciences-Public Leadership Sub-Plan must take the following courses:

Student ServicesEighteen hours (2 courses each in psychology, sociology and anthropology) selected from the behavioral sciences overview and core courses as listed under the Behavioral Sciences-General Requirement.
