Training Excellence

Psychological Services at the University of Houston-Clear Lake is the training site for graduate professional psychology programs in clinical psychology, family therapy, and school psychology. Graduate students working under supervision of experienced clinical faculty provide all services in the clinic.

The Clinical Psychology program trains mental health professional in a variety of therapy and assessment techniques with an emphasis on adults and couples. Specialized training is offered in behavioral therapy, stress management and expressive therapies. The program is affiliated with the Council of Applied Masters’ Programs in Psychology (CAMPP).

Family Therapy provides the graduate student with training in family and marital therapy that focuses on couples and families working together to solve systemic problems. The program is accredited by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and has been designated as the Model Program for masters-level training in family therapy for higher education in Texas.

The School Psychology program provides supervised experience and training in assessing and remediating child and adolescent emotional and psychoeducational problems. Trainees learn to combine psychological and educational evaluations with parent and school consultation. The program is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), the first accredited specialist-level program in school psychology in Texas.
