Most UHCL students need and get financial aid. Approximately 60% of all UHCL students receive financial aid from one or more sources, including scholarships, grants, student loans, college work study, and veteran’s benefits.
Financial aid is a partnership between the student and the University. You may receive two types of financial aid--funds determined by your financial need and funds that are not related to your financial status. At UHCL, we use a standard financial aid application. This application is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid--also known as the FAFSA. Every student wishing to receive financial aid must complete a FAFSA.
We will look at your FAFSA to find the difference between your costs at UHCL and what the Federal Government says you should contribute to the cost of your education. The difference tells us how much aid you might qualify to receive.
Apply early to qualify for the best financial aid options.
You can file your FAFSA form online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. We cannot process your financial aid until you are admitted, so please file your FAFSA early so that we can get started as soon as your admission records are complete. Apply NOW!
