Psychology: Understanding human behavior is essential in many fields of endeavor. The Undergraduate Psychology program is designed to expose students to the study of people from a variety of perspectives such as biological, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and social. Required courses in the Humanities, Sociology, and Anthropology place the study of people into a larger context. Major emphasis is placed on learning the basic tools of the study of psychology. Students are prepared for graduate study in psychology or for jobs in the field of human services.
Instructional Technology: Graduate students pursuing a degree in Instructional Technology learn how to use and integrate computer technology to either provide or facilitate instruction. Students will learn how to apply what we know about human learning, instruction, and emerging technologies to analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate effective learning environments.
Software Engineering: Students pursuing a degree in Software Engineering will learn to address critical issues across the life cycle of software systems beginning with the proposal to develop an application through development, testing, operation, maintenance and, finally, retirement of the application. Students will gain an understanding of the latest tools and technologies developed to address these issues. Graduates of the program are prepared for careers in industry, government agencies and other institutions in which software development and maintenance is important, and provides a basis for an academic career related to software engineering.
