Distance Education: Pearland Center: Higher Education Partners

Higher Education Partners

Alvin Community College and University of Houston-Clear Lake have been working together to meet the higher education needs of surrounding communities for almost 30 years.

With the establishment of a new Higher Education Partnership agreement, the two institutions are strengthening their impact on education, economic development and quality of life in the Alvin, Manvel, Pearland and surrounding areas. The collaboration provides an opportunity for students to complete an associates degree, as well as earn a bachelors or masters degree while staying close to home. Additionally, the partnership bolsters the workforce training capabilities needed to support the rapid growth and development of the Pearland and Alvin area.

Beginning in fall 2004, the university will also offer upper-level classes at ACC. UHCL and ACC will continue to refine and enhance the academic offerings each semester as community needs are identified.
