CareerLink Orientation and Registration

You must be a current UHCL student or UHCL alumni to use CareerLink.
After reading the information below and completing the registration, you will be able to create an account on UHCL's resume database system, CareerLink.

Cost

The subscription year is September 1 - August 31. The fee charged covers the licensing cost to use the software.

First-time subscribers who sign up

• September 1 - December 31, pay $ 20
• January 1 - May 31, pay $ 15
• June 1 - August 31, pay $ 10

Renewals are $10, regardless of the date during the subscription year. No renewals are accepted in August.

Students using the system exclusively for Co-op jobs, on-campus employment jobs, and/or Work-Study jobs, may be eligible for free entry to the CareerLink database. These students are limited to viewing only those jobs corresponding to the relevant category. Please check with Career Services regarding these options.

If you already have an account ....

1. Enter your username and password. For students and alumni renewing from a previous year, contact Career Services to get the username and password last used on your account.
   
   
2. Once you log in, CareerLink provides helpful hints on how to navigate the system.

If you are creating your account for the first time ....

1. Select Click Here to Register. You may have to scroll down to find it.
   
   
2. A form appears requesting information in several categories.
   
   
3. You will receive immediate acknowledgement from CareerLink when you have successfully registered.
   
   
4. Your information is sent to a "Pending File" to be approved by Career Services staff after you have paid your subscription. Until approval, you have limited access to the system. Accounts that remain pending, without being paid for, may be deactivated at any time without notice.

1. My Profile - Can be updated and searched by Career Services staff for referral purposes. Only resumes are sent to employers.
2. My Documents - Upload resumes, cover letters, application forms, etc. to you account
3. My Activity - View referrals and applications made by you, Career Services, and/or employers
   
Jobs
Search the job listing database.  Your search will yield only those jobs that match your Applicant Type.


Schedules
1. Qualified Schedules - On-campus interview schedules for which you qualify to apply
2. Future Schedules - Search upcoming interview schedules
   
   
Career Events
Viewable list of scheduled career events including workshops and job fairs

CareerLink Registration

After completing the orientation, you can now sign up for CareerLink.
