  1. Can I pay by credit card?
    No. At this time, we are only able to accept cash or check.


  2. Who do I make the checks out to?
    Please make your check out to University of Houston - Clear Lake or UHCL.


  3. Can you make change for a $50 or $100 dollar bill?
    No. The highest denomination we can accept is $20.00. Exact change is preferred.


  4. Why do I have to pay a fee?
    The fee is used to pay for the licensing cost of the CareerLink software.

  5. I am unable to access my account. What's wrong?
    1. Did you put in the correct username and password?
      If you don't remember your password, go to the CareerLink login page and click on "Forgot your password?" located on the bottom of the page.

      If you don't remember your username, contact Career Services.
      • Drop by the Career Services office with your drivers license or school ID.
      • Call or e-mail us. We will e-mail your username to the e-mail address you have on your profile in the CareerLink database.
    2. Did you pay the registration or renewal fee?
      If not, your account has been deactivated until you pay $20.00 for a new registration or $10.00 for a renewal.

    3. Did you register properly?
      Remember you must create your login information on the first page of the account registration and click "Submit Registration" in order for your account to go into "pending" status. Career Services will change you status from pending to active once payment has been received.

  6. Can I upload more than one resume into the database?
    Yes. You can upload up to four resumes into the database. You may also upload writing samples, references and cover letters.

  7. How do I put my cover letter and resume into the database?
    When you login to the database, a menu bar appears at the top of the screen.
    1. Move your cursor over My Account.
    2. Click My Documents from the drop-down menu.
    3. Instructions appear at the top of the screen for uploading your cover letter and resume into the database.

  8. How do I get an interview for on-campus recruiting?
    Prerequisite: You must be registered for a Full Access Subscription (Applicant Type) in the CareeLink database and have a resume uploaded to qualify for on-campus recruiting interviewing opportunities.
    To Interview: When you login to the database, a menu bar appears at the top of the screen.

    1. Move your cursor over Schedules.

    2. Qualified Schedules, a selection in the drop-down menu, are schedules for which you meet the minimum requirements.

      Future Schedules, another selection in the drop-down menu, takes you to a search screen. You must meet the minimum requirements, as specified on each schedule, in order to be considered by the employer for an on-campus interview.

    3. Instructions appear at the top of the screen for uploading your cover letter and resume into the database.

  9. What if I can't make it to the interview?
    You must alert Career Services about your inability to interview at least 24 hours before the interview. Call Career Services or e-mail Luisa Beck at
    becklc@uhcl.edu.

  10. Can I sign up for other services provided by your office on the CareerLink database?
    Services include job searches, resume exchanges and on-campus recruiting. Please make an appointment with a Career staff member to discuss other services.
