How to Lookup Your Campus E-Mail Account and Login to E-Mail

Starting with Fall 2005 semester, all students will begin receiving official UHCL communication at their UHCL campus e-mail accounts.  After reading below instructions and you are still having problems, call the UHCL Support Center at 281.283.2828 for assistance.  IMPORTANT - when finished using e-mail, be sure to log off (see final step of How to Log in to your E-mail Account below).  This ensures that no one else can view your e-mail by using the browser's back button.  Your e-mail account has a 20MB storage limit.    DISABLE POPUP BLOCKERS WHEN USING CAMPUS E-MAIL.

How to Lookup your Campus E-mail Account:

  1. Click on http://mypassportid.uhcl.edu/lookup
  2. UserID Lookup page will display
  3. Enter your SSN or last name and click Submit
  4. List of names will display on right side of same page  
  5. Find your name in list
  6. Click on your name
  7. A list of accounts belonging to students will display
  8. The account prefixed with a system identifier of PCLAB is your e-mail account. If such an account does not display, you do not have a campus E-Mail account. 
  9. Write the prefix (PCLAB) and User ID down on a piece of paper
  10. Close the UserID Lookup page

How to Login to your Campus E-Mail:

  1. Click on http://webmail.uhcl.edu
  2. E-Mail Web Access page will display
  3. Enter your User ID followed by @uhcl.edu (Don't enter the PCLAB prefix).  For example, if your user id is TEST1234 enter TEST1234@uhcl.edu
  4. Click Login button
  5. Connect to exchange.uhcl.edu dialog window will display
  6. For User name: enter PCLAB\ followed by your user id (for example, TEST1234) be sure to use a \ after PCLAB 
  7. For initial password enter p followed by your 7-digit student id number. For example, p1234567
    To reset your password click on http://mypassportid.uhcl.edu/change.  To reset your password you must either know your current password or be able to answer questions the password reset utility will ask.  For help, call the UHCL Support Center at 281.283.2828 
  8. Click the OK button
  9. Microsoft Outlook Web Access page will display
  10. You are now in your e-mail account
  11. Click Log Off button in left, bottom portion of page when ready to log off
  12. Close E-Mail Web Access page
