Committees and Involvement
The Office of Alumni and Community Relations and the Alumni Association Executive Council invite your involvement on one of the following committees:
Alumni Acknowledgement and Community Outreach: to acknowledge the accomplishments and service of alumni at community events and through personal contact; and, to serve as ambassadors of the Alumni Association in the community.
Chair: Joanie DeForest.
UHCL Alumni Events: to foster alumni connections to one another and to UHCL through meaningful events hosted by the UHCL Alumni Association.
Chair: Sean Murphy.
Constituent Relations: to contact, engage, serve, empower and acknowledge alumni through targeted constituent organization affiliations and programming. The goal of the UHCL Alumni Association is to establish a constituent group for each of the four schools by September 2011. The chair of each school constituent group will also serve as liaison to the school dean on constituent matters. The charge of this committee is to help us meet that goal.
Chair: Cathy Mergele.
Alumni Education and Career Connections: to serve alumni while empowering their lifelong learning through speakers, workshops and seminars offered in conjunction with other university offices and programs and to serve alumni through programming that addresses career opportunities and networking needs.
Chair: Kanchana Weerasinghe.

Celebrate UHCL’s 50,000 alumni milestone throughout the 2009-10 academic year at one or more of the UHCL Alumni Association’s exciting events.
Activities planned include the premier of UHCL AlumNight in September, an AlumNight New Year’s Star Party in January and an Alumni Association Breakfast Roundtable in February.
