Start at a community college, finish here at UHCL!
Gabriella
Many high school students decide to go to a community college for their first two years, and then complete their bachelor’s degree at UHCL. Planned correctly, it can be a convenient, cost-effective way to get your degree.
To help you plan, our enrollment counselors will meet with you and explain how to facilitate your transition from community college to a bachelor's degree at UHCL.
Our high school Unilink program and 2+2 transfer plans aid in a hassle-free transition.

future teachers
If you’ve ever thought of becoming a teacher, the Success Through Education Program (STEP) is a program you should know about. It provides tutoring, job shadowing, and developmental opportunities as well as special invitations to visit community college and university campuses. During your senior year of high school, we help you apply for community college admission, financial aid and scholarships. Find out about our STEP programs for high-school students: GATER2, BAER2, Home Grown Teacher Program and Pathways to Teaching.
