Biennial Planning

The purpose of biennial planning is to provide a process for faculty and staff to (a) develop a unit or school plan to identify priorities, (b) document the use of assessment results for improving services and operations, and (c) provide input to the funding process as it supports the university strategic goals.

General Procedures

  1. At the beginning of the biennium, schools and support units outside the schools identify outcomes, assessment methods, and critereia for success in the AIM (Assessment Information Management) system.
  2. For outcomes that require funding, the school with consultation with their faculty will develop a school level funding priority list; the divisions with consultation with their respective units will develop a division level funding priority list. The funding items are entered into a funding request excel spreadsheet (download the spreadsheet located below the planning calendar below).
  3. The schools and divisions forward their school level and division level priority lists to the components (President, Provost, VP for A&F).
  4. The components combined funding priorities will go through the shared governance process for review and recommendation to the President.
