TUCCC 2008 Conference Program

Identity Formation in the Eating Disordered Client

Dr. Beverly Savinsky, Staff Psychologist, Southwestern University

This program will provide an overall discussion of identity development as well as specific clinical interventions in regards to identity development and eating disorders.  The broader discussion will begin by defining identity and examining the identity theory in a historical psychological context.  Specific components of identity will be discussed.  The program will conclude with general clinical interventions to encourage identity development as well as clinical interventions specific to eating disorders.
