Increasingly, employers need and seek candidates who have leadership skills—those who understand the processes of bringing group members to consensus for achieving desired outcomes.
Public leadership begins with personal leadership and responsibility. That means defining your goals, identifying and removing obstacles, and moving forward. Leading others requires strong people skills, and understanding the role that participation plays in governance.
